Pastoral Care Ministry
The Pastoral Care Ministry was set up last year in response to being part of a caring community here in Discovery Bay. It is important, that whenever someone who belongs to the community when they are sick, housebound, in hospital, serious illness, pregnancy, injury or similar circumstances, that our Eucharistic Ministers bring the comfort and healing of Christ in the form of the Blessed Sacrament to those who cannot come to mass, to share their faith, compassion, and the support of the community to those in our midst who are sick. We bring the church to people who cannot physically come to church. In this way, the sick and homebound are united to the Body of Christ. The ministers continue the healing and compassionate ministry of Jesus, as members of his body. It is always in Jesus name that they visit. The call of the ministers to the sick is to be present to the patients as they attempt to find God in their life situation, by listening to them.
